@darewithdrea: You can know you need to set the boundary and still feel guilty after you set it. You can know you’re exhausted and still struggle to leave something unfinished. You can want help and still hear yourself saying, “It’s fine, I’ve got it.” When you’ve spent years being the capable one, the accommodating one, the woman who figures it out and doesn’t disappoint anyone, choosing yourself can feel incredibly uncomfortable at first. That discomfort doesn’t automatically mean that the boundary was wrong, that you’re selfish, or that you should go back and undo it. Sometimes you’re simply doing something you don’t have much practice doing yet. You’re allowed to be a beginner at choosing yourself. The first no might feel awful. The first time asking for help might feel vulnerable. The first unfinished to-do list might make you restless. Do it imperfectly anyway. Eventually, choosing yourself gets to become familiar too. Save this for the next time choosing yourself feels like you’re doing something wrong. 🫶 #chooseyou #burnoutrecovery #survivalmode #HealingJourney #peoplepleasingrecovery
