It’s jealousy. I’m in my 30’s and my kids are in HS. Majority of people in my age range have younger kids, and they always assume I’m gonna “chip in” because I’m “experienced” and I don’t have “little kids that need me all the time”. And when I don’t, they get butthurt.

I'm not paying to go on vacation to watch someone else's kids especially when the fathers won't. I could understand maybe offering one night but with 4 kids I probably wouldn't, that is way outside of what I would feel comfortable with

they invited her to babysit. wtf did they mean they didnt want their husband to babysit their kids on the "husbands" vacation? its not babysitting when its your children. its called parenting. I never expected anyone to watch my son when he was growing up. he was our child so we took care of him.

nah i had small kids at the time and did a group trip never not once did i even think to get mad at the other couple for not watching my child i asked their dad and we all had a great time

I’m a mom of 3, I would never expect my child free friends to automatically help me with MY kids, especially if my kids dad is there, also if I wanted a child free night then I would ask, not just expect it to magically happen or just arrange proper child care
