As a 1998 baby I relate so hard to identifying with Gen Z and millennial! My baby years were on film cameras etc but then I did witness the rise of technology and the internet so it’s so frustrating to not feel like I fully relate to either haha

This is a fine take as a young white woman but this was never an option for Black Millennials. Or Black GenZ professionals for that matter. We have to survive and that means playing the game to get in. Now that I’m a senior leader in corporate I’ve been able to shift the rules from the inside. The enviro is better because I’m there and agree that most things are trivial but you can’t do that just yelling from the internet.

Nowadays you have to job hop to get more pay, you can work at the same job for 25+ years and only make 3 dollars more because your raises are .10 here and there or you can go to a different company that’ll pay you $5 more from the start because of your experience. It’s not the same as it used to be. It was opposite. Now companies don’t care about anyone but their pockets. 😩

this is the first take on this i’ve seen that puts into words how i was feeling abt this whole debate😭 like yeah i probs wouldn’t bring a drink like that just bc i get anxious and knowing me id probs drop ts on the ground, but i don’t think it’s inherently “unprofessional”

as a '95 millennial that does some interviewing, if you bring an iced coffee, i'm probably thinking "okay, little casual" and honestly idek why, but if you're on time, down to earth and know your stuff and you do get the job, I'm buying you a starbucks gift card for all the iced coffee you want
