I just transferred here and genuinely people talk so bad about this school but i feel like they just don't have anything actually bad to compare it to.

Yesss everything you said was very true! As a New Orleans resident and a first year student a Loyola you literally have to make the best of it! It has it ups and downs but so does every other college!

Heavy on this, housing is like the most expensive thing here, if you can commute I would. The next thing I will say is classes can get pretty busy, most of my days are 11:00 to 9:30 with maybe 2 one hour break, it gets busy but that’s college for you. The last thing, I love being active and going to the gym but there’s not much time to go because it’s open from 8am - 8pm

Undergrad class of 2018. Loved and miss my years there. There are pros and cons to every university, but my advice is to enjoy the time you have left. It goes by quick and some of those people you'll never see again. Have fun cheers 🍻

Graduated from Loyola in 1994 (3rd generation graduate). I’m a native New Orleanian. The tuition, even back then, was too high. It took me from 1994 to 2016 to pay back my student loans. With all due respect, it’s NOT worth the cost. As a successful professional, NO one really cares where you graduated from (as long as you meet the requirement of a 4 year degree). I’m also a lifelong Catholic (went to Catholic grammar and high school). That said, I was not happy with some of the professors (especially theology, philosophy and sociology) that seemed anti-Catholic or even anti-Christianity. My opinion, I think that’s odd for a Jesuit education. I did have some INCREDIBLE professors. I did feel that the professor/student ratio was EXCELLENT. On a food note, we had Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and the dining hall. As a student that lived in an off campus studio apartment, parking was very challenging. I basically went to school, worked two student campus jobs and studied. At that time, we had ZERO athletic teams. I did have a radio show on Loyola’s WLDC 64AM.

It was an ok 4 years but honestly the nursing program was the simplest to get into. It prepared me to pass my licensing boards, and it was only 20 minutes away from my house. Pretty ok experience for me
