@hustlersnthehood: Ebony Jones grew up in Montgomery, Alabama, watching her father Sam Jones go to work for Montgomery Fire/Rescue. He retired as a captain. She went another way first. College basketball, then professional boxing. She says she lost every fight she ever got into as a kid, then became the first female pro boxer out of Montgomery to get nationally ranked. In 2019 she walked into her father's old department and started at the bottom. Five years later they made her sergeant. On Thursday they made her lieutenant. No woman had been promoted to that rank in 24 years. Her dad was the first person she thanked. "I wasn't focused on making history. I was just focusing on being the best firefighter and leader that I can be." @theeebonyqueen33 #HustlersNTheHood
