my grandfathers 1968 vintage IWC. He got it when working 20 years for his employer in the steel industries. My mom gave it to me after it sat 24 years in a safety deposit box. I got it fixed because it didn't run anymore and now it is in my weekly rotation.

After buying my first watch I was hooked. I kept coming back to the Mike Posner video where he explained his journey from materialism to minimalism and non attachment. He explained that he was nervous to travel around with his Rolex and that his luxury watch ended up owning him. He now wears a simple Timex and it brings him joy. I still want a Rolex someday but I went and bought myself a Timex Waterbury. It was the watch I travelled with on my Iceland trip in June and it reminds me of minimalism and hanging with friends on the open road. Love this watch.

The addiction came on rather quickly. A few Google searches a day spiraled into an obsession that caused me to drag a good buddy of mine to 47th st to find my dream watch. After a few phone calls to the wife where she explained to me that I was not under any circumstances to purchase a 15k Rolex, I happened upon this bad boy at our very last stop. It caught my eye and it’s mine forever. Breitling Chronomat GMT. Love at first sight.
