@monicaumunna: I didn’t stop reminding my husband of things…I simply changed the way I reminded him. I realized the difference between reminding and nagging often wasn’t what I was saying, it was how I was saying it. “Hey babe, have you had a chance to think about that thing I asked you?” communicates something very different than, “Have you EVEN thought about what I asked you?!” Same reminder, but completely different posture! I’ve learned that nagging is often an overflow of what’s already happening in my heart toward my husband. If I’m irritated, frustrated or resentful, eventually he’s going to hear it in my tone and see it in my body language. Learning to communicate with more kindness and gentleness doesn’t mean I can’t ask for what I need. It means I care enough about my marriage to consider how I communicate it 🙏🏼 I expect the same from my husband. Marriage has required both of us to adjust, grow and learn how to speak to each other in a way that communicates love and respect🔥❤️ “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” Proverbs 31:26🙏🏼
