I hate when people attribute this to “human nature.” I believe that the perceived “human nature” of greed and selfishness is a direct result of a socioeconomic system. When there is an opportunity to give oneself an unfair advantage, it’s inevitable that someone is going to take that opportunity. That’s the beginning of the end. Good shit tho

I believe the greed so inherent to modern American society stems from baby boomers; when looking at reports from supervisors of children in the 1950s you can see the term ‘me generation’ stems from them. Furthermore, they conclude that these children only showed respect when material reward was a consequence, and held interests in only cars,business,careers and mainly capitalist products when you exploit the labour of a working class hence why boomers outsourced labour to foreign nations as soon as they were old enough to do so.
