She was such a brilliant business woman. When her son wanted to create Clinique under the Lauder Family, Estée was the person who was adamant about the fragrance free guarantee Clinique is known for. Even tho she herself loved fragrance, she knew that she couldn’t appeal to the sensitive skin market with her own line, so she made Clinique the first 100% fragrance free cosmetics line

You are correct I met Estée Lauder when she was in our 80s. I think wasn't long before she died and she was the eternal Sales woman. I was in an elevator with from my clients mother's apartment in New York all the way down the ground floor I would've been in my 20s now in my 50s and to this day I use la mer and Estee Lauder products
