but you're minimising the severity and frequency of the side effects. there's also a risk vs reward type situation where the risk for men isn't getting pregnant and everything else that comes with it.
I really find it interesting that so many women are so quick to dismiss the side effects as a significant issue for men because women experience side effects for their contraception, especially that men are being limited with options of contraception because of it.

This is finally real progress and equality, but if by some miracle the doctors and experts actually allow it to be used by the general public. I still don’t think most men even blink at it :/

Nexplanon I spotted for 18 months straight and gained 20 pounds. Sprintec I had no physical side effects but got so anxious I almost dropped out of college. (I know because two weeks after I stopped taking it I was like wtf was I thinking). I get it works for many women but you will never catch me on another hormonal BC as long as I live.

The social and financial consequences for an unwanted pregnancy are far more serious for a woman. A woman has a larger interest in maintaining control of the decision. Until that equation changes the medical field will not follow.

The best option for male contraceptives are the temporary block that can be injected into the vas deferens. It is a material that can be injected to prevent sperm from coming out similar to how a vasectomy works, but it can be dissolved with a future injection when the man wants to try for a baby. which is great since a vasectomy should be considered permanent. Reversal is not guaranteed by any means. It also isn't a double standard. the two systems are completely different and it shouldn't be shocking that different approaches should be needed.

Say the important part dam it! Is the severity and frequency of the side effects comparable, and are all the side effects the same? There is a lot of similarities between the side effects of alcohol and chemotherapy, if you only read a list of the ones they have in common, but to ignore the ways they are different would be irresponsible and idiotic.

🌟 Sarah Lelu 🌟 :
Its not being developed further because we live in a patriarchal society. There is no othet reason than men protecting men and putting ALL the responsibility on women for everything... It is constantly reinforced that we are the cause and responsible for being abused by men, we have to be responsible for keeping ourselves safe instead of telling men to stop being violent... Why on earth would any man want to take responsibility for contraception when they don't when they commit violence.
.
The one point however I am against male contraceptive medication because men are untrustworthy generally speaking. No woman would ever believe they are taking a contraceptive pill.
