@build_in_public: Everybody's excited because the new Claude can create beautiful, complex websites with a single prompt. What nobody talks about is complexity hurts conversions. Yuppiechef removed their top navigation bar. Conversions to their primary button doubled. Imaginary Landscape cut their introductory text and cut their form fields from 12 down to 4. Their conversions also doubled. Career Point made the top of their page extremely simple: a form with a big button, big clear image, top navigation removed. Their form field submissions more than quadrupled. This was the banner at the top of Humana's homepage… they cut all 99% of text and made a clear button. All their text was reduced to one little line. Clear heading, big button to their shop page, and the slide counter was made gray so it wouldn't distract from the button. They got over 15 times the clicks to their shop page. This was Ring's sign-up screen: they had a beautiful moving video background. They experimented by making it just gray so it wouldn’t distract from the call-to-action. The simple one won over the complex one. Time and time and time again, the simple one beat the complex one. Removing all distractions from clear benefits and from a clear big button is what actually gets conversions. The new Claude sites may be beautiful, but they won’t benefit your bottom line as much as you think. meanwhile my manager really needs the 50 field form for people to sign up 🤦 about 20% of people signing up call us because the form isn't working (they often missed a field )
