I thought Cornish cross’s couldn’t reproduce since they are made strictly for meat? Are you breeding it with a different chicken and will it be kind of like a Cornish Cross with the growing fast and for strictly meat? Or is this just a “test” to see what will happen? I’m just super curious!!

I had a luck one once. When she started to lay eggs, they all were double yokes. Unfortunately, it wasn't long after that, that she had a heart attack from being too big

My broiler. Chicken. He lived to be 1 year old. And he even got to show. Got disqualified because of his feathers. Had to let him go when he couldn't walk one day. He butcher out about 6kg and alive he weight almost 7kg. He would run to the gate for me to come home. Still mis his presence.

I’ve been told and it’s very well known in the chicken community that this cross is infertile. Not that they won’t lay eggs just that they don’t hatch well.

I’d go for an incubator honestly, save about a weeks worth and put them in there, might get two incubators so you can offset the hatches like I do. My guineas don’t lay very many eggs, and in about a week I can barely break a dozen. I have two incubators, I have over 30 eggs going on different hatch dates, the first incubator is to keep any of the ones that aren’t actively hatching warm and safe, while the other incubator does the heavy lifting of hatching them out for me. This is purely so that I can hatch as many as possible, it’s inconvenient because it is so staggared, BUT it keeps the eggs from experiencing dramatic humidity changes or too high of humidity that could lead to more problems/ deformed chicks. I’ve done this before, wher I had two different batches in the incubator at the same time, I had poor hatch rates, weird oddities happening (like the legs getting trapped under the yolk sac, hence physically blocking the yolk from being entirely absorbed, not deformed, literally just being malpositioned can cause this) early hatch, hatching even though the yolk isn’t fully absorbed. And even severe leg deformities.
