My baby resisted sleep training entirely. It only caused him agony and me too, hearing him cry I couldn’t handle it - especially when I knew I could fix it. We cosleep, he’s 15 months and honestly still feeding to sleep. I sometimes am tired of this schedule and might wean here soon, but following my babies cues has made us overall happier! And yes, I sometimes fall asleep at 7/8pm on accident putting him to bed 🤣

Accidentally sleep trained my baby. Routine is everything. Stick to a routine. On the dot every night for a little bit. Some people co baths before bed. We don’t do a bath for a few hours before bed bc he wakes up..

Then don’t do it. Babies need their moms. It’s hard to not sleep, but they need their moms. This is temporary. We did not do cry it out and she now sleeps 7:30-7:30. They don’t understand why no one is coming for them. This will pass. So what’s in your heart.

Sleep consultant chiming in 🥰 modified CIO works wonderfully for many many babies. There is a reason it’s so popular. BUT! It’s not for every single baby. That said, one thing that many people propose is NOT picking up your baby when you do you check ins, and I think that’s fine for SOME kids. If they calm down easily when you open the door / pat them and vocally support them then cool. But those check ins are meant for co regulation. So if you’re not picking up your baby and they aren’t calming down during a check in, I’d strongly recommend picking them up!!! Actually coregulate and bring their nervous system back to calm. A disregulated baby cannot learn. Another thing I see is sometimes the short timers with typical Ferber methods (3-5-7 minutes) can sometimes interrupt your baby right when they would attempt to soothe. I like using more like 8-10 minute timers - gives your baby a chance to actually work things out a bit and potentially start to work toward falling asleep. There are rare instances when shorter timers are better, but in general it feels like short timers just make our babies more upset. Hope this is helpful!! Happy to chat more if this doesn’t feel applicable or you have questions 🥰

Yay to Ferber. It took my son a lot longer to catch on and I tried to give up 500 times but my husband didn’t let me. After some time it finally worked and it’s been the best thing for him and us. He’s 2.5 now and sleeps 7:30pm to 8am all by himself and has for the last 2 years almost. My advice is either you or your partner NEEDS to make sure you guys stick to the program. Even when it feels like it’s not working. You got this.

Ferber is hard. But stick with it! It’s so worth it. Sign up for a week- but it won’t take that long. A sleep trained baby is magical!

She has a bottle then falls asleep on me or dad in the rocking chair. We wait like maybe 10 min of her sleeping (gotta love the snuggles) then we transfer her. We count to like 5 before getting up if she starts making some noise to see if she will grab her binky to self soothe but we never wait if she's screaming or crying really bad. S

Currently cosleep(almost 6 months) but my baby started showing signs of falling asleep on their own and so I’ve started laying them in their crib. I was really worried about cosleeping and sleep training. It doesn’t seem to matter what path you go as long as you feel it protects you and your little one. I literally just started this week with crib naps so we’ll see how it goes.

Please watch my video on what I did with my baby!!! It’s one of my recent videos! 9 months old is not the prime time to do Ferber since their separation anxiety tends to really kick in at that age
