My community learned that the Israelites and Phoenicians are in fact the same people. We were taught that the word Phoenicians is in fact a Greek word meaning purple people. Our traditional garments were purple, fringed linen and we use feathers quite like the so-called native Americans. Most interestingly we were taught the Phoenician language which is the very language the Israelites spoke before the Persian captivity. The alphabet we used is commonly known as paleo Hebrew,known in the Phoenician as OBR, obviously read from right to left, (the English pronunciation would be Obara as every letter has its own sound. Your teachings are interesting however with all due respect I must disagree with the wedge you place between the Israelite and the Phoenician. We were also taught that the Phoenicians were King Solomon,s navy on account of their sea faring skills which is also where later the term Moor came from.
