I actually think Coraline’s eyes are just charmed or under a spell. And everything looks good to her, the clothes are something she likes, the food is her favorite, her room looks really cool. And when she stands up to the other mother and rejects her. She sees the other world for what it really is. A old falling apart house, the other dad is actually a pumpkin puppet, the tunnel looked cool and inviting but it actually had the remains of the past children. Like the dinner she asks for a mango milkshake, I bet it was just water but Coraline wanted a mango milkshake so that’s what she saw and tasted. That’s how the other mother got everything right and wonderful

I like how there is clearly more material make another Coraline related project but Laika is like nah. It could be a small mini series or prequel movie. I never seen anyone talk about a movie as much as Coraline and the movies came out nearly 20 years ago.
