Paisley update Paisley has been in icu now for 14 days, 12 of these days have been on life support. For the first 7 days Paisley was on the oscillator machine this is a vent that’s basically used as a last resort for your lungs as Paisley was far to poorly for the conventional ventilator her lungs just couldn’t handle it and were trying to shut down💔 myself and ross were told the first five days were critical for Paisley, hour to hour minute to minute anything could change and to be prepared incase as there isn’t a step up from the oscillator that’s as high as you can get for lung support 😭 seeing her on that machine has to be one of the most horrific things we have ever seen in our poor girls journey, non of this is normal but that machine made it so much worse they don’t breath like a normal person instead of your chest going up and down it shakes your whole body constantly 😭 After what felt like a life time we passed the 5 day marker, on day 7 the consultants and medics had seen small amounts of improvement in Paisley and her lung scans.. they decided to change her over from the oscillator to the conventional ventilator to see how she would cope 🥺🥺 thankfully Paisley managed this transition over🙏🏼🙏🏼 coming off the oscillator to a normal vent is a massive step! The fact her lungs could even handle this was amazing! Paisley has also been on a nitric oxide machine along with both the vents she been on as she has pulmonary hypertension because her left side of her heart was working to hard to try and keep her lungs going ❤️‍🩹 Paisleys has made tiny amounts of improvement but it is improvement 🤞🏻her X-rays have show her lungs look very different from the 8th the night everything went down hill and we nearly lost her to now 🥺 some areas are clearer.. Paisley was far too ill to be given a CT scan as she wasn’t stable enough until yesterday. Yesterday’s it took 15 drs, medics and tech support teams to take her for her scan! The scan showed that Paisley is fighting a nasty fungal infection deep in her lungs all caused from the high does chemotherapy and stem cell transplant 🥺 this broke me but we have been told nothing we could have done would have stopped it just unfortunately one of the risks that’s come with treatment 💔❤️‍🩹 because of how poorly she was it turned septic very fast 😭😭 Paisley is still incredibly unwell and still very much critically, even though we have has some improvements and been able to move machines we are very far from out the woods! Things can change at any minute let alone hours/days we have been informed it’s going to take a very long long time for her to get better we are talking months❤️‍🩹 even after this Paisley still has cancer to fight! The only positive from all of this is we have been told it’s not cancer in her lungs 😭 Our beautiful girl still needs all the love and support she can get so please keep praying for her, keep supporting her! She’s the most amazing little girl with her whole life ahead of her! As her mum it’s destroying me to see her like this but I know she’s getting the rest she needs! We just keep telling ourselves we will hear mummy and daddy again with that big beautiful smile 🥺🙏🏼❤️‍🩹 #pray #icu #fyp #sad #babygirl
