The push for cafe standards also may have inadvertently led to lifter problems in modern eco-tech motors. New motor at 70k - 150k miles costs over $10k. Not saying we don’t need better mpg but if government regulates that maybe they should regulate the quality and how long the consumer expect the vehicle to last.
