@abc15arizona: She thought she found love online. Instead, she lost more than $500,000. An 87-year-old Arizona woman is now sharing her painful lesson to help others avoid romance scams.
How are people not more cautious with their money? And how do they not know scams like that exist

This is just so sad. One time when I went to Chase Bank, there was an elderly woman at the teller. She must’ve been hard of hearing because she spoke really loud so I can hear. You could tell the exact same thing was happening and she was trying to send somebody who said he was her nephew $70,000. Luckily, the teller caught it and called her manager, they brought the customer in the back, probably as to not embarrass her in front of other people. People are just sick, breaks my heart.

This is so sad but scamming continues to be permitted. Because of demographic is huge in Arizona. My stepfather felt the same thing. His loss was only 8 thousand dollars. but it might as well have been 1 million because that’s all he had. I don’t get into the crypto crap. Such a horrific scam. And definitely don’t post anything online about the death of a spouse. That gets the scammers going.

This sadly is so common. If you have elderly parents, please get on their bank accounts so you can monitor

Scammers are literally trained to hijack your brain. So stop talking to anyone you didn't call yourself.
