6 out of the 11 main cast members actually served, including Alan and Jamie, who served in the real Korean war. that frustration was real, and felt by half the cast, since MASH's show (DEFINITELY not the book) was a criticism of the Vietnam war

It's a joke amongst my friends how I bring everything back to capitalism, but like....yeah? Almost every bad thing in the world comes back to money, and the desire for more of it

there's a phrase everyone uses "war is hell". it's not. war is war and hell is hell, and to me, war is worse.

M.A.S.H. was one of the shows I would watch every now and then because one of my parents just kept watching it. It’s been years since I’ve seen it. The life of a medic in war is hell I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Maybe I need to watch this show again.

The way Potter’s voice breaks saying that always gets to me. He’s usually the composed one being the CO. He has to hide it to keep the camp running, so the moments he finally starts to break and slip up always hurts my soul. I love that sweet man so much. The fact that this was his third war. He just deserves the world and to have been home with Mildred.

i hope im dead by morning :
i would sit and watch this with my grandpa when he wasn't reading, that episode when he yells about ending the war was the first one I saw, that was the moment i knew my family was stupid and content with everything happening, they all got upset with me, a like 6 year old for saying "i agree with him why can't they just figure it out, there has to be something they can do" i also brought up the fact the we were literally invading Iran and so many people have to still be screaming "why can't they just end the damn war". i also got grounded for bringing up Iran and using it as a proper example for why my family is content when it's people they don't know dying.
