My dad committed, and no one thought he was Christian. He never went to church, he had an alcohol addiction, and he was depressed. After the police and coroner left his home, we looked around his house and we found a Bible hidden on his tv stand, not dusty. He had a secret, private relationship. He probably never told anyone because he was ashamed of his struggles with his sins. We'll truly never know. Even if someone outright says they dont believe, the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy, and our Lord is merciful. It is ultimately not up to us to know.

So does heaven accept rapists and murders, because they believe in god, but not good people who loved and lived in kindness, but didn’t believe in god? Why is that the same punishment for vastly different crimes? Heaven is cruel, if this is truly what we are supposed to believe

No one is guaranteed a place in Heaven, not even you. It is by God's grace, love and mercy he decides who gets in. Pray for all those who pass that God show them mercy, but don't make the mistake of thinking your ticket is secured, it's not.

My great grandfather didn’t believe and my aunt prayed for him for 27 years. Moments to his last breath he accepted Jesus

people can have a change of heart in the last second they take a breath, you never know what happened. you also never know what chances and mercy God offered them after they passed. orthodox chirstians pray for the soul of the departed every day, and it is believed that honest genuine prayers can earn mercy for the person on the other side. there are whole services in church were the names of the departed are mentioned and the whole church prays for them. we never know what happens on the other side/what happened in their last moments🫂

When my father passed i stopped believing. My father was a good dad, but he wasn’t a good person in life and he lacked a relationship with God. I was so convinced God didn’t listen to my prayers when my father passed. I stopped praying, all i did was cry, i didn’t go to church. All i wanted was a sign. The first dream i had with my dad a couple months after he passed we were at a park and he was a little boy, he then turned into his grown up self and i started crying to him asking him if he believed in God because even in my dream i was so worried and scared I would never see my father, he looks over at me confused almost mad and says ‘ yes of course who said i didn’t’ . I’m not sure if that was my brain trying to make myself feel better, but it the sign i needed in that moment. I still hyperventilate at the thought of never seeing my father but i’ve gained my faith back, and all i can do is hope i see my dad on the other side.
