@nursenicolenclex: NCLEX gives you a medication AND an abnormal lab for a reason 👇 Stop memorizing them separately! Connect the medication → the lab → the complication. A few examples: 💊 Lasix + low K+ Think: potassium loss → dysrhythmia risk 💊 ACE inhibitor + high K+ Think: potassium retention → hyperkalemia 💊 Digoxin + low K+ Think: increased risk for digoxin toxicity 💊 Lithium + low Na+ Think: lithium can build up → toxicity 💊 Warfarin + high INR Think: increased bleeding risk The lab is often the clue telling you what the medication is doing to the patient. So when you see both in an NCLEX question, ask: “How are these connected, and what complication am I trying to prevent?” That’s clinical judgment!
