i hate how now people have tried changing the meaning behind the lyrics or tried to make this into a miserable song, not a love song?? just because they broke up doesn’t mean this song isn’t one of taylor’s best love songs (that just so happens to be about joe, a man whom she dated for SIX YEARS).
