i experienced the inverse from a 19 y/o haha. i had 6 years more experience than them and they were adamant on treating me like i was inexperienced until the very end, because i refused to minimise them or project a certain sense of authority over them. in hindsight, i think both experiences have to do with misogyny; an inability to recognize young women do need to be taught the ropes, just as a young man would, without projecting high expectations onto them for being a woman, and also not being able to accept that young who women are competent and experienced have to jump through so many unnecessary hoops to be perceived as such.
