the fans are wrong for wanting a prequel. the morality of joel needs to remain murky and his character in service to the overall story of the games works best when the gamer just like ellie live in a state of limbo not really sure what kind of man joel truly is. when tommy hints at joel doing awful things that gave him nightmares it works best because we the gamer are left to guess and speculate which makes joel a conflicting character to root for. its this kind of story telling that directly feeds into the complicated emotions that people feel for abby and ellie in part 2.

It would be great if they came out with a dlc where you play as Tommy for his 3 days in Seattle it would add atleast another 3 hours of story content then if they made a Joel and Tommy game of what happened in the 20 years leading up to the first game

i stand by the fact that the prequel would make a horrible game, like imagine its just 12+ hours of needing to do bad things to innocent people, and we already know the endpoint. it should be a story focused dlc like left behind

isn't tlou2 finale ALREADY an ending for Ellie? what more is there to tell about her? she lost everything and everyone, and she understood it the moment she left the guitar behind... I don't see why there's always the need of an explanation or a "black or white" finale

I think tlou writers are so much more smarter than to make that prequel game. I would hate it so much if they do make it. It’s extremely unnecessary and adds nothing to the narrative and messaging.
