You cannot state one side of the coin as brain damaged and fail to mention the same with the other side. It’s the division, the arguing and the separation that is the real issue. We are all constantly given things to keep us from connecting with one another. Life is a journey of what to embrace and what to renounce. The trick to it is to not collapse into either extreme and maintain self identity and integrity.

i was in a religious debate with my boyfriend once, me being an atheist and him being christian, and by then end he said "just let me believe what i want to believe" and that was the end of the conversation because he was right and it makes him happy. who am i to tell him what to believe? and who is he to tell me? we have been together for over two years and we haven't argued about it again since

this division over beleif/faith is done on purpose to cause more division. it doesnt matter in the end. ...we're you a good person? that's what matters.

Some brain injuries have been associated with decreases in religious belief, while others have been associated with increases in religiosity or fundamentalism. The research shows that brain changes can affect beliefs in multiple directions, not that atheism or religion is uniquely caused by brain damage. It can most definitely go either way.

Drug addiction and doing time in prison also seems to be a trigger to become religious. We’re not dealing with our brightest folks to begin with.
