We booked a wildlife boat tour during our Sitka cruise port stop, and it ended up being one of my favorite experiences of our entire Alaska cruise. Picture this: fog rolling over these tiny little islands, bald eagles everywhere, whales swimming nearby, and some of the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. We even saw starfish and all kinds of marine life. It was unreal. After our excursion, we headed into downtown Sitka to explore, grab some food, and walk around. And listen, no offense to Sitka, but the town itself was just okay for me. 😂 It was pretty, but compared to other Alaska cruise ports like Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan, I personally felt like the real magic of Sitka was out on the water. My Alaska cruise excursion advice? If Sitka is on your itinerary, look into a wildlife watching boat tour. It's an incredible way to experience Alaska's coastal scenery and potentially spot whales, bald eagles, and other wildlife. Of course, wildlife sightings are never guaranteed!
