In Georgia, we do it too. Only this time, we are not making wine — we are making churchkhela. First, you crush the grapes with your feet in a traditional wooden press called a jara. Then we move on to the serious part: hazelnuts, walnuts, thick grape mixture, and your own churchkhela hanging to dry. Yes, it gets messy. Yes, it’s fun.
