@mytvcebu: WATCH: The Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (PISTON) Cebu joined the nationwide transport strike on Tuesday, September 29, a day after the implementation of the new public transport fare adjustments. The group is calling for the repeal of the Deregulation Law, as well as the removal of the excise tax and value-added tax (VAT) on fuel. According to PISTON Cebu, the recent fuel price rollbacks and the ₱1 fare increaseare still insufficient to address the daily needs of drivers and operators amid the continued rise in fuel and other basic commodity prices. PISTON Cebu President Greg Perez and Mabolo Chapter member Augustin Ocampo shared their concerns over the current situation of drivers. Other groups also joined the protest, citing the continued impact of rising fuel prices on drivers and operators.
