My THREE Hispanic sons attended the great Stuyvesant High School. In my family, we prioritize education. It's not about discrimination or racism; it's about working hard just like everything else in life.

Simple. Centuries of disadvantage for one since colonial times vs privilege for the other means to be equal you need to be far, far better.

Education is also about inheritance. My dad and mom both have elite education in science so I had semi good ChatGPT at home since I was 7 in 1997.

The test is irrelevant, the support system outside the education system is. It's not race it is a community system in place here.

Problem: These people are looking at the outcome and crying unfairness rather than looking at how people get there thru hard work, prioritization, and discipline.

No race is more intelligent than the other—it is all about opportunities, history, sociology economic status of parents, etc. Scientists have looks at the genes and determined that there are more genetic differences within races than between races.

Asian parents and siblings teach Asian kids since they are four to count and read. I could count to 1 million at age four. I also learned to read before I started school. We were not commanded just to do our homework and get good grades, someone in the family made sure we understood the assignment and taught us how to do homework. It comes to an age where we know how to learn and so we learn independently from henceforth.

It’s about time, access, and resources. The availability to tutoring, strong educators, stable housing and a support system matter. As a teen of your only responsibility is school it’s easier to excel. If you come from a background when you have to help raise siblings, contribute financially to the household, facing hunger scarcity or other factors. then focusing on school becomes less of a priority. Students who achieve high scores usually have a strong support system OUTSIDE the classroom but if you have parents working 2-3 jobs you aren’t given that support.

I’m Chinese. Both of my kids went to specialized HSs. And no we never paid for any prep courses bc we were too cheap lol. What did it was reading to them from the age of 1, every night. By 3 they were reading by themselves, every day. We didn’t have electronics at home for them to play with. Their fun time was often reading. When traveling, we didn’t have screens for them in the backseat. They had their books. They devoured books. It became like investing little by little in the stock market. After 15 or so years, those who only invested once in a while are caught completely by surprise at what 15 years of compounding interest have done. It’s just working hard and being consistent. My wife retired at 41. I retired at 43.

It’s not the race itself, but the culture of race behind that is determining the outcome of class. If you only focus on the issue of race, you will miss the key point of this discussion.

Part of it is the school's were African americans and hispanics live are under funded and don't provide the same level of education. Do to systemic racism the parents don't have the education to assist on funds to pay for higher education tutors.
