I took a white shirt from Dollar Tree the year the littles ones were found for Canada Day & my son & I used orange paint to put orange hand prints all over it & I painted Every Child Matters on it. The T-shirt was 2$ & the paint was 2$.

I’m a teacher and I tell my kids who don’t have orange shirts or clothes to wear their favourite piece of clothing that makes them feel special, like Phyllis’ shirt did.

We picked an old tie dyed shirt from art camp, used some orange paint, and had my daughter put her own orange hand print on the shirt. I love it.

At my school today a company donated one plain orange shirt to every child and staff member. One activity will be to have them decorate their own shirt in a way that represents what today is to them. I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with.

My 6 year old son cried when I told him about why Orange Shirts are special & why this all matter so much, I cried with him. I didn't know if they would teach the younger years fully about it in school. Whether he passed on his knowledge to others I'm not sure, but he knows it's not just a day off school & work for us, and that we're lucky we get to be a family because some didn't.
