#robloxavatar #robloxoutfits #grade #roblox #outfits The State of Nevada is located in the western United States and is known for its vast deserts, mountain ranges, vibrant cities, and rich mining history. Admitted to the Union on October 31, 1864, Nevada is nicknamed "The Silver State" due to the significant silver deposits discovered during the 19th century. It covers approximately 286,000 square kilometers (110,577 square miles), making it the seventh-largest state in the U.S. Nevada's capital is Carson City, while its largest and most famous city is Las Vegas, an internationally recognized destination for entertainment, casinos, luxury resorts, and nightlife. Other major cities include Reno and Henderson. Although much of the state's landscape consists of arid desert and rugged mountains, Nevada is also home to stunning natural attractions such as Lake Tahoe, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park, and Great Basin National Park. The state's economy is driven by tourism, gaming, mining, technology, logistics, and renewable energy. Nevada is one of the world's leading gold-producing regions and the largest producer of gold in the United States. The state is also known for its business-friendly environment and relatively low taxes. Nevada has a predominantly desert climate, with hot summers, mild winters in lower elevations, and snowy conditions in the surrounding mountain ranges. The state receives abundant sunshine throughout the year, making it one of the sunniest regions in North America. One of Nevada's most famous landmarks is Area 51, a highly classified U.S. military facility that has inspired countless theories involving secret aircraft and extraterrestrial life. Combined with its unique geography, colorful history, and iconic cities, Nevada remains one of the most recognizable and fascinating states in the United States.
Just after midnight on July 6, 2012, 16-year-old Skylar Neese climbed out the bedroom window of her family's apartment in Star City, West Virginia. Surveillance video showed her getting into a car. She left without her phone charger or other things she would need for a long trip. Skylar expected to come home. She never did. The people in the car were two of her closest friends, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf. For months after Skylar disappeared, they acted like worried friends. Eddy helped Skylar's parents search and told investigators the girls had gone for a drive before she and Shoaf dropped Skylar off. That story was a lie. Eddy and Shoaf had planned Skylar's murder. They picked a remote area across the state line in Greene County, Pennsylvania, brought kitchen knives, cleaning supplies and a change of clothes, and arranged a signal for when the attack would begin. Skylar believed she was simply going out with her friends. After reaching the secluded location, the three got out of the car. At the agreed moment, Eddy and Shoaf attacked. Skylar fought back and tried to escape, but they stabbed her repeatedly until she died. They planned to bury her, but the ground was too hard, so they concealed her body beneath rocks, branches and debris. Then they returned home and pretended they knew nothing. Police initially treated Skylar as a runaway. But investigators grew suspicious of Eddy's account. Her story changed, and authorities confirmed that the car seen on surveillance belonged to her. For nearly six months, Eddy and Shoaf kept the secret while Skylar's parents searched for their only child. Then Rachel Shoaf broke. In late December 2012, Shoaf suffered an emotional breakdown. Soon afterward, she confessed that Skylar was dead and said she and Eddy had killed her. She led authorities to the location. On January 16, 2013, remains found there were recovered and later identified as Skylar. When investigators asked why they had murdered their friend, Shoaf said they simply did not want to be friends with her anymore. Years later, Shoaf offered additional explanations involving conflict among the three girls, but the killing had been planned before Skylar ever climbed through that window. Shoaf pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in May 2013 and was later sentenced to 30 years in prison. Eddy continued denying responsibility until January 2014, when she pleaded guilty to first-degree murder. She received life in prison with mercy, allowing the possibility of parole. Skylar's case also changed West Virginia law. Her disappearance had not initially qualified for an Amber Alert because authorities lacked evidence of an abduction. In 2013, lawmakers passed legislation known as Skylar's Law, expanding the circumstances under which missing children believed to be endangered can trigger an alert. Rachel Shoaf has since been denied parole multiple times, including again in June 2026. Skylar Neese thought she was sneaking out for a late-night drive with two girls she trusted. Instead, those girls had already chosen the location, brought the weapons and decided how they would kill her. For months afterward, they stood beside the people searching for Skylar and pretended they wanted her found. One of them finally confessed. And the disappearance of a 16-year-old runaway became what it had been from the beginning: a planned murder by her own friends. #DesertCrimeFiles #SkylarNeese #SolvedCrime #WestVirginia #TrueCrime
