Can we talk about the greedy, giant elephant in the room that are these staffing companies in the IT industry? Why are companies like TEKSystems and 4 Corner Resources even in existence? They want all these qualifications from you, then low ball you in salary and don’t give you health insurance. Meanwhile if the client just hired you directly they would be getting better quality work and saving a lot more money. Makes no damn sense!

If i ever see an IT guy good at social interaction I know the company is screwed. I need socially awkward, DC comic picture, talks via notepad instead of joining a call to fix your issues.

The company I worked for had me doing everything IT from manager level down to helpdesk and everywhere in-between. I asked for 10k being they refused to hire someone to help. They let me go, I found a better job with better pay and the kid they hired to replace me now has to figure out A LOT of stuff without anyone there to help him. I feel for him but that company? HA, I hope there were a ton of delays.

Not gonna lie I’ve been Helpdesk for 5 years. We have 8 techs. This is me for all of the users that are under 1 specific tech that I cannot stand. He talked to me crazy one day and I will now have him running all over everywhere for a simple hpia update.

In my experience, these are the guys that just got fired because they were getting paid too much. They had been these since they had to fix typewriters and never learned how to fix anything created afterwards.
