@h3artofthehome: No more twine wedgies!Sourdough pumpkin loaf tip: slide thin strips of parchment paper under your twine before you tie the loaf, and the string lifts right off after baking instead of sinking into the crust and leaving you picking it out of the bread 🎃 Even if you soak your twine in oil, the dough can still rise around it and bake it right in, so the parchment is what keeps the string off the dough and gives you crisp ridges without the bread splitting where the twine presses in. How to do it: •Cut parchment paper into thin strips •Dampen them with a little water so they wrap around the dough without springing back •Wrap your shaped loaf with twine and tuck a strip under each section of string •Tie it off and bake as usual •Let the loaf cool completely before snipping the twine, and the strips peel away for clean lines It works on any pumpkin shaped sourdough or yeast loaf you tie with string, so save this for Halloween and Thanksgiving baking 🧡 My full Sourdough Pumpkin Jack-O'-Lantern Bread recipe with step by step shaping photos is on the blog. Artisan Sourdough and More :
I have to ask after seeing your gorgeous master piece. I did actually pumpkin loaf into a pumpkin but on every loaf I had two wedges blow out. I didn't tie as tight as you thinking give it some expansion. Dough was fully fermented before putting in fridge for 24 hours. Any ideas please.

Ah what a great idea! We've soaked the twine in oil and water, plus dusted in flour and somehow it still ends up sticking to the bread. It's not terrible but if you look closely sometimes you can see the little threads.
