As a vet that graduated from your uni in 2019 to work in specialist pig practice for over 5 years and then went into small animal last year after not touching it in half a decade, believe me when I say that you remember more than you think and learn so much more on the job than you do at uni. What makes me feel old is when I started uni there as a vet student, that building wasnโt there, and your standing where I used to have my evening meals ๐ ๐ ๐

I graduated from your uni! First off - youโre doing fine, youโve got this. Nobody remembers everything, youโll keep picking it back up when itโs needed and reinforcing the basics without even realising it. Best to visit the teaching dogs in extra sessions you can book, itโs more relaxed and less people = more time. Give yourself time off ! Go to the gym, have fun, ditch the strict schedule sometimes, youโll need the balance to keep pushing through so donโt feel guilty

I always feel like true knowledge recall comes from seeing actual cases, clinical knowledge is lowkey quite forgettable until you have something to apply it to, then I find it sticks :)

Itโs fine I broke the sterile field when draping and they made me put on a whole new gown and glove and I was so thrown off for the whole spay

Girl as a vet nurse, it sounds like youโre absolutely smashing it? You didnโt fail you are successful. You made it to the gym once instead of not going at allโฆ and also who cares? Vet school is mentally emotionally and physically draining. Hungover? Girl you are having a study / social life balance. Good for you. Having to revisit old notes? Well done for revising instead of trying to guess and being wrong ๐๐ผwe arenโt robots we canโt remember everything. As for forgetting equipment for an exam? Stuff happens you learn from it. Keep going gurllll ๐๐๐๐
