@aero.total: THAI AIRWAYS CUTS FLIGHTS AS BAGGAGE CRISIS DEEPENS AT BANGKOK AIRPORT Thai Airways is cutting flights from Bangkok as it struggles to recover from a major baggage-handling breakdown at Suvarnabhumi Airport, where thousands of suitcases remain stranded after days of severe rain and flooding. The airline says around 5,000 bags were still awaiting processing, while other reports put the backlog at roughly 5,600 pieces of luggage. Thai Airways has set a target of clearing the remaining baggage within 72 hours. The disruption began after flooding around Bangkok prevented large numbers of ground staff from reaching the airport. Problems involving baggage-handling equipment further strained operations, leaving the airline unable to process luggage normally. The crisis has now extended beyond baggage. Thai Airways has reported flight delays, cancellations and significant schedule reductions, with domestic and international services affected. The airline has temporarily reduced departures from Bangkok while it works to stabilise operations. Authorities have also deployed military personnel to assist with baggage recovery and ground operations at Suvarnabhumi. Passengers separated from their luggage are being offered delivery to their home or hotel once their bags are located and processed. Thai Airways CEO Chai Eamsiri has apologised to passengers as the airline continues efforts to restore normal operations. For travellers, the disruption means the situation at Bangkok is no longer limited to delayed baggage: flight schedules themselves are now being affected as the recovery continues. #ThaiAirways #BangkokAirport #Suvarnabhumi #AviationNews #FlightDisruption

Ariel S :
THAI Airways, we need answers.
On September 29, THAI accepted our two large suitcases in Bangkok even though the baggage system was already in a serious crisis. Our flights TG415 and TG417 to Kuala Lumpur were both cancelled. After approximately 26 hours without sleep at the airport, our luggage — containing clothes, purchases, souvenirs and essential medication — disappeared.
My wife and I are 60-year-old travelers. This has caused us enormous financial and emotional distress.
If the baggage system was already overwhelmed, WHY did THAI continue accepting more luggage?
I do not blame the frontline employees — many were doing their best under extremely difficult circumstances. I question the decisions that allowed this to happen.
THAI Airways: PLEASE FIND OUR BAGS. We deserve answers, transparency and accountability.
