I’d make sure whatever you’re using to clean up his messes is also taking the smell completely up as well! Cause if not he may be smelling it and that’s why he’s doing it around the same spots if that makes sense! Hope you get relief soon! 🥰

Growing up, my family lived on a giant plot of land and my dad installed giant floodlights that lit up our entire yard, which made taking our dogs out at five or six in the morning a lot less creepy haha

We took our Aussie pup out ever 2-3 hours. It was exhausting at first being up all morning but he got use to going outside & not on my floor. They’re definitely worth it though 🥰

have you tried a pee pad while he’s potty training? you can put it near the door so he still associates it with the outside! might help with the accidents 😅

Highly recommend getting an electric fence so you can let him out on his own when he’s bigger. I understand where they’re smaller you’re worried about birds picking them up, but it’s been the best investment. Our dogs don’t wander now even when they aren’t wearing the collar, it helps train them to know where the boundary is.

Bell train him! It’s the best thing I did for my girls, every time you take him out ring the bells so he realizes bells mean the ability to go outside and he should pick up ringing them by touching a treat to them and saying touch or whatever command you want to make it!! But my girls ring the bells to let me know they need to go outside

As a puppy, you should be taking him out every 30 mins and after any playtime/nap time. Waking them up every 3 hours also helped so much because they can’t hold their bladder since they’re so tiny! With this routine, my girl was fully potty trained in 3 weeks. It was exhausting but so worth not cleaning the messes 🤣😭

Potty training gets better I promise- take out about 10-15 minutes after eating then every 30-45 minutes while he’s still really young. For the teething phase- frozen hang towel (trust me it’s such a life saver), frozen carrots and celery, teething rings and duck feet. Also keep some 100% pumpkin on hand for any upset tummies or when you change his food

Our vet told us when we first our puppy (he’s 3 now) to try and hold him as much as possible to not give him the chance to go 💩 on the floor and take him out every 30 min.

With my retriever I took her out how ever old she was plus 1, so when she was 2 months old I took her out every 2 1/2 to 3 hours, 3mo old every 4 hours. And I always made sure she pooped at least twice a day! It was exhausting but it works ☺️

When I first got my puppy and he has accidents inside I would take him right outside and say go potty and if he would go he would get a treat also if he did have accident inside I was say no sternly (which is hard with the puppy eyes) but it eventually worked

Potty training is crazy I know!! Right after he goes potty in the house show him and take him outside right after sit outside for a couple minutes even if he doesn’t go pee outside he will associate it. Take the poop and put it outside where he goes potty. When awake every 30-1hr. When asleep I’d take him outside immediately after for about 10 minutes. You’ve got this!!

Until my dogs are potty trained, I only take them out on a leash and immediately go inside when done. this way they know outside is meant to potty. ugh i don’t miss the puppy stage!!!

Use the bell method for potty training… my golden was potty trained within two days!!! Hang a big bell on the door within his reach and teach them to ring it before going outside so they learn to ring it when they gotta potty [Heartwarming]

potty training to so exhausting!! but it does pay off, make sure to take him out 10-15 minutes after he’s eaten & don’t give him full access to wander off, especially unsupervised. baby gates are really helpful!

Take him out the second he’s done eating. He’ll learn that way and then take him out every two hours daily. And then crate him for 6 hours max a night. Last thing u do and first thing u do is take him out … make sure you know what calories he should be getting from vet to not over feed 😍

Potty training gets better! Ours is seven months now and is the best boy. One day it was like a switch was flipped and he just understood he goes outside. Their little minds when they're that young are like ADHD monsters and going potty just happens where they're at, mid-activity. But, goldens just want to make you happy so he will get it, you just have to continue to be his safe space while he learns! You're doing great! 🫶

Try to realize what he does and his patterns before he goes poop inside and be adamant that if you see him getting ready to go immediately scoop him up and take him out/direct him outside.
