Rescuing as a neurodivergent mum & daughter team isn’t always pretty, organised or TikTok-worthy. Some days the ADHD says “KEEP GOING!” while the fibro is screaming “ABSOLUTELY NOT.” I don’t normally talk much about neurodivergency or disability on this account because people can be incredibly judgmental. Apparently ADHD, fibro and disability are all things strangers on the internet feel qualified to diagnose from a 60-second video or they think they are made up. But it affects EVERYTHING we do — including rescue. Sometimes in really difficult ways, but sometimes it’s exactly why we’re so good at what we do. Once we focus on something, we REALLY focus. Unfortunately, everything else can disappear into the background with it! And then today happened… Blue and Sasha had to go to the vets, to be spayed and Blue needed her X-ray, Callie needed her second vaccination… and somewhere in the middle of all that I ended up on a wild SHEEP hunt because two sheep had been hit on the road. One was dead and another appeared seriously injured. I couldn’t just leave it. If you’re driving through Wales, PLEASE slow down around livestock. Beautiful scenery is no excuse to speed through it. Animals are often on the roads, verges and even pavements, and they deserve care and respect too. And yes… I left the phone pinging in the video. I didn’t edit it out. Some days you just get what you get. Since filming this morning, we’ve also had some really worrying news about Blue and Sasha. I’ll update you properly when we’ve got our heads around it. For now, I’d really like to know — does anyone else recognise this kind of neurodivergent chaos? #RescueCats #Neurodivergent #CatRescue #AnimalRescue #ADHD
