one of my closest friends got shot in the head and killed during a drug deal when we were 19. i remember seeing comments under his posts from people who didn’t know him, obviously being racist and gross. but all i could think of is how he used to trip getting on the school bus in elementary school cause his little legs were too short for the steps.

having this mindset hurts. thinking of how everyone was once a child, everyone had a favorite toy they grew up with or a favorite storybook, and to think some of these innocent children grow up into monsters breaks my heart

It hurts thinking like this, because it's making it very hard for my anger to last for bad people. I always wonder, what if they got help first, support, and understanding before they did bad things? What if the world was a little nicer to them? But change is still inevitable. Then I realize I can't control other people, I can't control how their lives go. It honestly always makes me cry a little thinking about this kind of stuff, the feeling of helplessness and the heavy wish for another way things could've gone is awful.

I feel this same way when I see people on the street without homes or going through a bad times. once someone must have lived them and seen a bright future in them. believed they could take on the world and make a difference. once they were warm and loved cuddled in someone's arms.

Tried to think like this before, but still couldn’t change the fact I still resented bad people. Yeah they were babies, so was I. So was their victims. So was you. You the reader. You were once a child like the gang leader once was. In the events of life, they made choices, decisions, and thought processes that made them the bad person they are today. Do not baby adults. Hold empathy for them sure, but never hesitate to hold them accountable for what they’ve done. The same boiling water that hardened the egg also softened the potato.

My big brother passed 10 days ago for almost the same reasons. I'm in shock because this video is so accurate and appeared to me at the right time. I look at the whole situation in such despair remembering how until couple years ago we played together in the pool behind our old house or with my dolls, and in just a moment everything vanished and he turned into a being that is considered adult and evil, which led him to this. Sister loves you the most and I know you are not evil, I don't see you that way, never will. I know you would understand 🩵Forever my brother Luka
