I for sure tooted during contractions… apologized every time. The nurse would just say LET ER RIP. When my son came flying out, my body fluids went everywhere! There was a spray/splash zone. The nurses and dr were cackling bc it was like a tidal wave. After he was out, I apologized for my armpits stinking while the nurse was putting on the BP cuff… she goes “it’s ok, I smell too”… never felt more seen. I LOVE WOMEN.

I'm a CNA in a long term nursing facility and when my residents apologize for being unable to control their facilities during cleaning up, my heart shatters. I make sure I tell them I'm so honored to be caring for them. Just because someone is losing control of their body and its ability to function properly does not mean they should lose their dignity as well. Not on my watch!!
