SUMINAKESE RESIDENTS CLASH WITH POLICE AFTER TENANT ALLEGEDLY MURDERED HIS 85-YEAR-OLD LANDLADY Tension has gripped Suminakese in the Kwahu East District of the Eastern Region following the alleged murder of an 85-year-old woman, reportedly by her tenant. The suspect, believed to be about 32 years old, has been arrested and is currently assisting the police with investigations into the incident. According to residents, the elderly woman, who was reportedly the landlady of the suspect, was found dead under circumstances that have shocked the community. The motive for the alleged killing is yet to be established. The incident, however, sparked anger among some residents, who demanded immediate justice for the deceased. The situation reportedly escalated when some agitated residents confronted police officers who had arrived at the scene to secure the area and take the suspect into custody. The residents allegedly attacked the officers and vandalised a police pickup vehicle. The police subsequently managed to restore calm and took the suspect into custody to assist with further investigations.
