My own woman too learnt about the war from this same book, which one would understand the bias of the writer, she was shocked when I explained the true accounts to her. There's never one side to a story, people need to understand that. I only hate that it's 2026 and certain people still prefer claiming victims when the problem was their own creation.

You're on point, I had the same feelings but after reading the book I was totally disappointed I thought late Professor Achebe was above unnecessary tribal sentiment.

you are very correct bro. my father told me some of that stories in his own account too as he was in the north then. they printed the coup platters image also on label for bread produced by the igbos there using it to mock the northerners and failed to prosecute the coup platters, they continues to pay their salaries and just kept them under house arrest.
