@dr.kavita.t: Replying to @thelionthewitchand make me so sad to see what a hard time you’ve been through. And hope you know I think you’re incredible however you’re feeding your baby. I really can’t answer if it’s worth it – I know you want the science of. Is there any value? However so much of this requires a proper assessment. So I’m afraid I’m not gonna be much help. But just wanted to say, I think you’re incredible and just remember the perfect mother for your baby. #Breastfeeding #pumpingmom #postpartum #newborn #breastfeedingmom

Thank you for responding 💕 by “is it worth it” I mean is there still value in giving such a small amount of milk in terms of antibodies etc?

I’m in a slightly similar boat. Tried everything - flanges, schedule, hydration, domperidone. Found out I’m hyperthyroid and I believe it’s impacting my letdowns, I’ll only get 20ml and I know there is still milk there. I’d love to know your opinions on oxytocin spray in Australia?

I think it’s worth it if you can mentally keep going! I have IGT low supply and combo fed for 6 months ❤️stopped pumping as it’s demoralising but did direct breastfeed followed by a formula bottle. No shame in combo feeding ❤️

I love this doctor so much. I was pumping around 40mls a session, max here and there 80mls a session, but I was doing everything myself with the baby as my partner is insanely busy. And when I would pump he would just cry, I couldn’t pick him up. I was triple feeding for 4 months straight- and it got so bad that everytime I even thought of pumping I would get so incredibly nauseous. I dropped the pumping to three times a day and that was worth it for me, until even that I could not sustain. Then I started breastfeeding and bottle feeding, but for some reason my milk dried up. Now I feed him just once at night. The guilt I have is crippling, but I was falling into a deep depression. Even now at 6 months, I keep thinking I should pick up pumping again for him, but I force myself to not as I fall into this toxic cycle with myself. I know the benefits of breastfeeding but I just couldn’t pump anymore

I’m in a similar boat. Traumatic birth- elective CS turned into cat 1 emergency CS. Pph, NICU stay with limited access to a pumps as only a few on the ward. I’m on domperidone 2x3 times a day. Pumping is 10-20ml each session.

It could be the wrong flange size. Not everything is medical
