two things can be true at once. the first ex husband needs to be held accountable and taken to court for child support. the second husband needs to view the boys as his children, even if they are biologically not his, and step up

My honest guess is that he is using this as a tactic to get Mom to get harder on the older Childrens Dad. Because I'm guessing that Mom doesn't push the older kids dad when he refused to pay child support. I'm not saying it's right. But that's kind of what I think is happening.

Take your first husband to court and have his wages garnished. Your second husband should not have to pay for them. He can assist you with your half of the expenses but should not foot the entire bill. I went through this with my husband and his two children from his past marriage

It’s rational to be upset about the problem. It’s abuse to take it out on the children. Take it out on the adult responsible and let the kids feel loved. That is the only way.

My dad was 18 when I was born, and he wasn’t even with my mom consistently but still paid for my older two brothers and paid my moms bills. They’ve been married now for 28 years. He wouldn’t punish the older boys because their dad never stepped up.

He signed up for the package deal not knowing how her ex was going to act in the future. Now that he has biological children to care for he's become resentful. Money may be tight. What it comes down to is HOW much does he love this woman, his wife. Thick AND thin.

How about legally going after the father so he is contributing? That would go a long way I bet with the current husband. But all in all, her current husband needs to be supportive not vindictive.
