I use to latch on to my friends mom too and I would get really disappointed if they didn’t show much interest in me. I had one friend in particular I spent a lot of time at her house and I remember being really crushed when the friendship ended because I just wanted that family dynamic so bad. I’m still working through that in therapy.

I literally thought all the situations where parents go and talk out a problem with their kids on TV was so fake. I was like why dont they yell if everyone knows that's unrealistic? I thought everyone knew it wasn't gonna happen in real life, but I was just living in an abusive household

Hi Kate. Not sure why I saw your story today. But God definitely was apart of it. I was adopted when i was 4. Our stories are different. But some of our feelings are. I also got sad when seeing families on TV. My adopted mom passed away when I was 18. & she was very kind. But I always felt like I didn't fit in. Because I was needing for my biological family & I didn't know it.

I can’t celebrate holidays or watch holiday movies I start to feel physically sick. 😭 If some is being maternal towards me I immediately wanna cry so I run away. Having an evil mom traumatizes u for life I stg .

I feel like mine is the opposite. If someone is maternal towards me I get suspicious and try to get away, but sometimes exactly like you. However, every maternal woman in my life has left because it usually was the mom of a guy I was dating and the relationship didn’t last. I definitely feel the problems thing. I am like that with a lot of people. I don’t see me ever getting adopted, though lol

Girl, I am in Therapy for the same exact thing. Real mommy issues at its finest. However, I was lucky enough to be able to push my way into my second mama’s life, and she loved me up until her last breath

I used to hate (and maybe still somewhat do) Christmas commercials and Christmas movies of happy families. Seeing everyone happy and getting along was very upsetting for me.
