Last year we had a red angus who had a calf the color of oak bark or old deadwood. the day after calving, she was in the top corner of the pasture, bawling. we realized she couldn't find him and we tramped all over that corner, finally gave up and started driving away when my husband looked over and saw him tucked up next to a fallen tree. he was just too little to understand that he was supposed to answer and his camouflage was PERFECT. Once we got him up and yelled at his mama, she came charging over to love on him.
