When I ran a DG in the middle of nowhere I came in at 5am to open the store at 8. There was one particular morning an old man had sat in the parking lot from like 6:30-8. Once the doors were unlocked the only thing he did was walk in, walk straight to the back of the store and walk out the fire exit setting off the fire alarms and left.

I don't work at target, but I work near one. When I get to work there are always SO MANY CARS that just sit outside and wait. Like the front end of Target's parking lot is pretty much full a FULL HOUR before they open. GO HOME. WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE THERE THE SECOND THEY OPEN THE DOORS 😭

My store opens at 9 am. We regularly have people show up at 730 when the opening manager gets there. Had one older guy yell through the door “youre in there just let me do my shopping!” Read the sign, sir, it says we open at 9. We can’t open the registers yet. You don’t get special treatment.

I kid you not, I opened a movie theatre alone every morning and one day at 7 am I walked into the dark building to find two old people standing in the dark staring at me. Scared the SHIT out of me. I immediately said " You can't be in here.. we don't open for two more hours!" And they got mad at ME because I didn't let them stand around and wait for two hours. Not to mention they found their way in because the closer didn't shut a door all the way and they were not apologetic at all for entering a closed business smh

worked for a phone store. dreaded opening shifts three times a week because I knew there'd be 5-6 regulars at the door and if you were even *2 seconds* late unlocking they'd get pissy. they'd be watching me count the drawer for the day and putting up displays like a zoo animal

i was stopped at a light last week & saw some guy keep tugging on the door to dairy queen at 9:56AM. i had to look up what time dairy queen opens- they open at 11AM.

They do the same thing at closing too 😭 when I worked at a gas station I once had some old dude TRYING TO FORCE THE DOORS OPEN 7 MINUTES AFTER CLOSING. apparently he wanted lottery tickets like dude the register is counted, the tickets are counted and locked too, try again tomorrow our hours are posted everywhere

I worked at a pizza place that opened at 11:30. The amount of people who would yank on the door and call asking why the door was locked early as 9am was crazy. I know the lights inside are on, but we open in 2 hours. We are making dough so you can have pizza when we open
