Maybe I should clarify my comment better. You're coming at it from a approximately 40 year old perspective and I'm in my 60s. I am single and have been for a long time. What I meant was, I know a few men that I've known many years that stay in touch with me. We don't regularly socialize together, but I feel like they think that if something happens to their spouse, because we are getting older, that they will have a connection to me, and I'm sure other women that they know. It's like they're staying connected to a safety net in their mind, because men who have been married for their whole life don't want to end up by themselves. I don't blame them or necessarily think it's a negative thing. Ultimately, as a woman I know that I have my own choices and decisions. None of these men are crossing the line in any way. But psychically, I know what they're thinking.
