Him talking about David’s positive attitude that he seemed to always have no matter what may have been going on with his health just drives home what he had mentioned in an interview clip I’ve seen floating around. He goes on about how making weird, sad and creepy art doesn’t have to come from being depressed or deranged yourself…you can just understand those feelings and how bizarre dreams can be and utilize that in your work. He even talked about how he knew cigarettes were probably going to be something that would lead to his death but it was a vice he was happy to take to the grave because it made him feel good and happy. Regardless of anyone’s feelings about that that’s what life is about though: do the things you love and enjoy the time you have on earth. We will all pass one day for one reason or another and if he just felt like he needed that particular thing in his life who are we to really judge? He left his mark in the world of art and film and made great friends along the way and even passed away in the house he built because of his amazing career and talent. David Lynch’s passing might just be the saddest and most shocking celebrity death I’ve witnessed in my 31 years but I’m so grateful for everything he’s done and how he’s influenced my interests. ❤️
