@greatbritisharchitecture: A Hidden Treasure in the North of England. A Catholic Seminary, a college for training priests. The seminary closed in 2011 and is now a visitor attraction: Ushaw Historic House, Chapels, and Gardens. Ushaw is certainly one of the best hidden gems in the North of England, with so much history and architecture packed into one single site. Additionally, it is located close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Durham Cathedral and Castle.
