Benjamin Odame Thompson, District Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Tarkwa District, during the presentation of nine electricity transformers to selected communities and facilities in the Tarkwa area on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. ECG’s official Western Region directory currently lists Ing. Thompson as the Tarkwa District Manager. The transformers were donated by Gold Fields Ghana to Samahu, Abekoase, Benso, Awudua and the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium (TnA Stadium), as part of efforts to support reliable electricity supply in the beneficiary communities and facilities. Ing. Thompson used the occasion to address concerns surrounding electricity-related issues and urged residents to allow ECG personnel to respond to reported faults and technical challenges rather than taking matters into their own hands.
